Your Secret Weapon For A Productive 2022...
We are less than two weeks away from the New Year, now is the perfect time to start thinking of what you want out of 2022 and how you're going to go about it...
Happy New Week,
I recently watched the King Richard movie, (highly recommend), it's about Serena and Venus Williams' early upbringing and how their father (Richard) had a great plan for their lives. There’s much more to the movie but this is what really stuck with me. Richard Williams repeatedly reminded his girls that “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. As we enter the New Year it is important that we enter with a plan and intention of what we want to achieve. Otherwise, if you don’t take control of your year, life will.
Life doesn’t always go as planned and there are a lot of things that are out of our control. However, it is important to have a plan of how you’re going to get what you want and be open-minded to the changes that come along with it. In life you have to be committed to your goals but flexible in your approach.
As mentioned in last week's newsletter it is important to reflect on your year and use your lessons to guide you on making next year better. This New Year coming, I recommend having no more than three main goals that you are going to work towards. These could be personal, financial, physical, career-based goals, etc. Having goals will give you a sense of direction, help you stay motivated, and help you measure your progress.
I prefer setting goals rather than New Year Resolutions. Resolutions are statements of intention, while goals are statements of commitment. Resolutions tend to aim for extreme changes such as “I will get in shape”. Statements like this are very vague and can be overwhelming. They don’t align with how the human brain creates habits. This is why 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail. It is important to turn vague resolutions into specific goals, for example instead of “I will get into shape”, be specific about what success looks like, whether this is to gain muscle, lose weight, or something else entirely. When you’re clear on your desired outcome, it makes it easier to create a plan to get there.
Once you set your goals you then need to have an action plan on how you’re going to achieve these goals. Your action plan should be broken down into small steps and habits that over time will get you your desired results. For example, if you want to lose x amount of pounds, your actionable steps should consist of signing up for the gym, having a workout plan, and attending the gym a certain amount of times during the week. Assess and track your progress over time, seeing positive results will help you to stay motivated and committed.
Last year I created a productivity planner that helped me and many others have a productive year. This year I took on all the feedback provided and made adjustments to create the 2022 Hustle Smart Productivity Planner which is now available for you to order. This is my secret weapon to another productive and successful year.
Having and using a daily planner helped me work towards my goals by firstly writing them down and having somewhere to return to. The productivity planner is designed to make sure you are frequently practicing self-reflection. At the start of the week, I write down my weekly goals, and at the end of the week, I reflect on those goals. This helped me track my progress and made me hold myself accountable. You can also read how the planner helped many others in our reviews.
If you are looking to improve your productivity in your personal and professional life. The Hustle Smart Productivity Planner will help you to set out individual tasks to reach your goals, stay on track with each individual task, and encourage you to move on to the next one effectively and efficiently. Using a planner to schedule appointments, events and tasks means you always know what you need to do each day. When you block out the time needed for each task and ensure your days aren’t overscheduled. You will start to “find” more time and use your time more effectively.
We have less than 2 weeks until the New Year, make sure you have clear specific goals, a plan of action, and a way of tracking your progress. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a productive New Year. Most importantly, please take some time to reflect, relax and enjoy time with your loved ones. I definitely will!
